Humpty Dumpty and Mr Bear

The quality of the drawings of the egg are staying at slight better than mediocre!

I got the angle wrong on Mr Bear. It is a close likeness but I messed up. I copied Humpty Dumpty off the worksheet this time. It is a hit or miss on features just like the real egg.

Loomis Dude

Loomis Dude... The lower right one I should have used a new piece of paper and made'm huge because he's very detailed. I managed to get'em pretty good I think, considering the size I created'em with. I'm getting more used to working with the ear line.

Football Squirrelmunk Head and Loomis Heads

I keep on messing up with the basic shape.

Andrew Loomis Heads, Humpty Dumpty

I think I did pretty good on these. The old woman on the bottom's face is wider than it should be.

More of Humpty Dumpty......
My construction of my own made up drawings leaves a lot to be desired. The ear line is off. Hopefully I'll figure it out.

Messing around, Loomis Heads OOO My

I need to work on facial features. I tried on the 1st two on the top left then I messed around with the others. The girls look better since I did the last Loomis tutorial. The guys well they are just plain ugly drawings. I need to focus on facial features eventually. The folds of the eyes, muscles on the face, etc. I'm getting more comfortable with the ball and plane method.

The babies construction was confusing... I hope later in the book he explains it better. The girl looks pretty good. The guy on the lower left was a quick attempt at using one of his diagrams showing various facial structures.

Loomis Girls

I tried.. well not on the hair.. but the faces yep.. tried.. and failed. They are off. The forehead is mostly what is wrong. The one on the top left doesn't even look female. The top right and bottom right girls are closet to the ones in Andrew Loomis' tutorial.

Humpty Dumpty and Friends #2

My Humpty Dumpties are around the same quality as last time. A hit there and a miss there.

Here's Humpty Dumpty's new friend Football Squirrelmunk Head. His shell is more elongated than Humpty Dumptys'.

Andrew Loomis Heads

Here are some Loomis heads that I constructed and copied to the best of my ability. I did better than I thought I would. At least they favor his drawings somewhat. The browline looks lower on the basic construction on his which threw me for a loop double D loop. He said come back to these in intervals and redraw them.

Humpty Dumpty and Friends #1

Here's the picture. I think he looks more presentable today than yesterday. He looks more like himself. I didn't draw the part where I smashed his skull in with a kitchen knife and emptied out his gooey brains.

Here are some drawings other than Preston Blair's Humpty Dumpty. It looks like the ear line is off... :( The ball and plane method rocks except I haven't figured out how to shave the balls yet. It is a very sensitive area that requires the utmost care to get it right!

My First Post

I decided to do this blog to take part in the $100,000 animation course as well as chart my progress as I learn to construct the human figure.

Here are some attempts at drawing the human head today. I am working on understanding and using the ball and plane method.
Here is my first attempt at drawing the egg with the face on it. I'm not pleased with some of them.
